About Masud Alam

Welcome to my world of art, where I combine tradition and technology to create unique pieces. You are more than a visitor here; you are an essential part of this space. Your presence activates each artwork, which represents a journey that started in my homeland, Bangladesh, and continued in the digital realm. My art is inspired by the vibrant city of New York, where I live and work. The city’s dynamic rhythm, its changing seasons, the heavenly movements of the sun and moon, the weather events, and even the sound of rain on my roof – all echo on my canvas. My creative process begins with various surfaces – canvas, board, or paper. I use graphite, acrylic markers, and oil pastels to create a harmony of lines and shapes. I also use handmade tools – twigs from my garden, custom-made brushes, each dipped in hand-blended, unnamed colors, adding a touch of mystery to my work.

I often use handmade collage paper or printmaking as the basis for my compositions. These traditional pieces, once digitized, are further enhanced on my powerful desktop. I use different devices and software, including a desktop, iPad, iPhone, multiple art software, and a Wacom Cintiq with a pressure-sensitive digital brush, to transform my art. The final creations, printed on canvas by a professional third-party drop shipping company, are available for art lovers to own these exclusive pieces. Even in the digital world, I maintain a natural connection to the painting process, letting each brushstroke or line lead the next, creating a dance between the artist and the canvas. In addition to my abstract paintings, I also make infinite drawings. I love to share these with art enthusiasts like you to enrich your collections. I’m captivated by human portraits and want to offer something special for my fellow art lovers. If you are interested in commissioning portraits for your loved ones, please visit the ‘Portraits’ section of the menu for more details. I have a deep bond with Bangladesh, the land of my birth. My artistic journey began at Dhaka Art College, where I received the formal training of art. But my true inspiration came from the natural beauty, the diverse culture, the celestial sky, and the melodious birds of my homeland. I have a special passion for Bangladesh art, and I want to share it with you. This is why I created the category art of Bangladesh. For cataloging purposes, all art pieces are sequentially numbered. Art collectors are welcome to participate in the process of titling the artwork. My journey, which started amidst the scenic landscapes of Bangladesh, has been enriched by my formal art education at Dhaka Art College, Chittagong University, the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, and finally, the Pratt Institute in the United States. My work, a reflection of this journey, has been displayed in 14 solo exhibitions across Southeast Asia, Europe, and the U.S.A., and in numerous group shows worldwide. Welcome to this journey, welcome to my artistic universe.
